The SPOT Festival is:
Around 100 upcoming Danish and Nordic bands and artists with international ambitions will play concerts in central Århus.
Conferences and seminars on current issues in the music business.
Around 800 Danish and international representatives from the music business: record companies, publishers, bookers, concert organizers, media, etc.

The SPOT Festival will take place:
Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2, 2007 in central Århus.
Begins: Friday afternoon. Ends: Saturday night.
Festival area with stages in and around Musikhuset Aarhus and Ridehuset – with additional stages in central Aarhus.
Main entrance/check-in: Musikhuset Aarhus where tickets will be exhanged for wristbands that give access to all the stages.

The SPOT Festival presents:
Rock, pop, metal, folk, world music, jazz, hiphop, singer/sonwriter, r&b, electronica, etc.
Established bands and artists with international ambitions and new bands that have been chosen among 730 applicants.

This year's acts:
Will be added to this site on an ongoing basis

Access to the festival:
Exchange of tickets to access wristbands takes place in the Foyer of the Concert Hall.

Band and music business check-in:
The Concert Hall Foyer.

Timetable:
The timetable for the 11 stages during the two-day SPOT Festival will be available at the entrances to the Festival area. It will also be available for download at www.spotfestival.dk. The timetable may be subject to change.

Limited capacity:
We would like to point out that the festival stages have limited capacities. It is therefore
advisable to show up in good time before the shows start.

The Concert Hall:
Smoking is not allowed at the three stages of the Concert Hall. Please note that you are not allowed to bring drinks to these stages either.

Different venues, different rules:
Please keep in mind that the festival is a guest at the various venues, and that therefore there may be specific rules at the individual venues.

Seminars:
The seminars take place in Filuren, except for the Sound+Literature events, which take place in Århus Kunstbygning.

Security:
If problems should arise, please contact the guard at the nearest exit right away.

DUP/Indie Label Booth:
This year, the Danish Independent Record Companies – DUP have their own stall at the festival area,where they present concerts/showcases with a number of their acts.

The Red Cross:
If injuries occur or if you fall ill, consult the Red Cross tent at Officerspladsen.

Info screens:
See the latest updates, potential changes, etc. on the info screens in the Foyer of The Concert Hall, and in the Info Tent.

Info Tent:
At the Info Tent at the festival area there will be live updates on a number of screens – and you can read the “SPOT Live” reviews, produced in collaboration with Gaffa and MyMusic.dk and posted as soon as possible
after the gigs. The Info Tent is managed by ROSA and TDC.

EnnaBella:
The Ennabella Festival has its own tent at the festival area, which on both festival days presents live gigs with a number of female artists a.o. Heidi Mortenson, Camilla Munck (Munck//Johnson) and Under Byen’s Stine Sørensen – the latter as a DJ!

AFTRYK:
AFTRYK is the name of a festival on the 24th May at Østhimmerland’s Efterskole featuring a score of continuation school bands – with Figurines as special guest. Many Danish musicians’ careers have started at the continuation schools. In recognition of the important work being done at the schools, ROSA takes part in the organisation of AFTRYK just like ROSA will invite one of the bands to play at this year’s SPOT Festival.

Studenterhuset:
Friday at midnight, Studenterhuset in collaboration with the G! Festival, will host a Faeroese night with their own line-up of Faroese acts. Free admission for everyone wearing SPOT access wristbands.

Pop Revo:
This year SPOT is collaborating with Pop Revo which has existed and organised concerts in Aarhus for three years now, presenting music far away from the mainstream. At SPOT, Pop Revo presents four Swedish acts – Love is All, [Ingenting],
The Concretes, and Sambassadeur.

Fabriken after SPOT:
On both nights during the SPOT weekend there is free admission until 2 AM for everyone wearing a SPOT access wristband at the nightclub Fabriken in Klostergade 34. Friday in collaboration with Soundvenue, Fabriken presents a.o. Turboweekend, Kernefamilien and DJ Død. Saturday is reggae night with Club
Exodus and DJ Bang Bang Club.

Football:
For those who don’t want to miss the European Football Championship qualifier between Denmark and Sweden, the match will be shown live on big screens saturday at 8 pm.


Co-writers on library tour:
The Festival’s Co-write project (see page 27 in the program) will go on a Library Tour in the week leading up
to SPOT. The 12 artists will play according to the following schedule:

21st May at 5 pm at Odense Music Library
22nd at 5 pm at Copenhagen Central Library
23rd at 5 pm at Roskilde Central Library
24th at 7 pm at Herning Central Library
25th at 3.30 pm at the Central Library, Aarhus.

Transportation:
CAR: Motorway E45 takes you directly to Aarhus both from the north and from the south
BUS / TRAIN: There are bus and/or train lines to most Danish cities and towns. Both the Railway Station and the Bus Station are within five minutes walk of the festival area.
PLANE: The nearest airport is Aarhus Airport (Tirstrup) which is situated 50 kilometres from Aarhus. From the airport there are connections to Copenhagen, London/Stansted (Ryanair). From Billund Airport there are flights to Copenhagen and most major European cities. Both airports have direct shuttles to Aarhus.

Cloakrooms:

There are no cloakrooms in the festival area, so please don’t bring more stuff than you can manage to carry around

Lost Property:
Lost Property can be reclaimed at ROSA’s office, Saltholmsgade 22, 8000 Århus C, (phone: +45 86 12 84 44) in the days after the festival.

Parking:
The nearest parking facilities are “Margrethepladsen” in front of Scandinavian Center.
