Babylove And The Van Dangos - Spot 2007, Officerspladsen, Saturday

Foto: Thomas Mose
Sweaty ska from pale danes

Front man Daniel "Babylove" Van Dango and his fellow fandangos are able to deliver cheery ska music that activates the feet and deactivates the mind. And so they did.

Slowly they managed to fill the large tent at Officerspladsen with people who needed a break from all the indie patos and instead needed music that speaks to the body.

Despite the bands Nordic origin, they're no doubt inspired by the genre's Caribian founders, and the Van Dangos mixed the set with both light joyful pop and more powerful breaks, showing how tight the band is.

Highlight of the evening was nonetheless front man Daniel "Babylove", who's enigmatic and energetic stage performance and husky voice reached all the way to the back of the audience.
